New Hampshire, Susan Lynch

NEW HAMPSHIRE'S FIRST LADY
DR. SUSAN LYNCH

"One of the most important things we can do for children is to help them understand how to keep their bodies healthy, and make them aware that alcohol can alter them both physically and mentally, sometimes permanently." —Dr. Susan Lynch

Introducing Susan Lynch, First Lady of New Hampshire

First Lady Susan Lynch, a pediatrician, brings her medical experience and concern for children’s health issues to Leadership.   Since joining in 2005, Dr. Lynch has worked with State officials and New Futures to launch New Hampshire’s Strategy to Reduce Underage Alcohol Problems. She has also promoted “Buyer Beware,” a State public awareness campaign aimed at preventing adults from purchasing alcohol for minors.

Dr. Lynch is also a specialist in treating cholesterol disorders at Concord Hospital Cholesterol Center. Her activities as First Lady focus on children’s health issues, especially working on an initiative to raise awareness of and help prevent childhood obesity. She is developing initiatives stressing physical fitness, having been a former dancer and a gymnast. The First Lady’s interest in children’s health is supported by her husband, who is committed to working toward full access to health care for all children through the expansion of the Healthy Kids Program.

Dr. Lynch attended Medical School at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and served her residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. She and her husband have three children.
