DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA CHAPTERS OF NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

State organizations may be valuable sources of information on prevention activities. Many of these organizations work together on special events and legislative activities. Listed below are national organizations and their District of Columbia chapters or affiliates.

Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA)
CADCA is membership organization of over 5,000 anti-drug coalitions, each working to make their community safe, healthy and drug-free. The following are the District of Columbia members.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
MADD’s members are moms, dads, young people, and other concerned individuals who want to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking.

National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA)
NACoA is a non-profit membership and affiliate organization working on behalf of children of alcoholics. The mission of the organization and its affiliates is to raise public awareness, to provide leadership in public policy, and to inform and educate academic and other community systems.

National Liquor Law Enforcement Association (NLLEA)

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
SADD is a peer leadership organization. It provides students with prevention and intervention tools to deal with the issues of underage drinking, drug abuse and other destructive decisions.
