Introducing Marsha Barbour, First Lady of Mississippi
First Lady Marsha Barbour has been active in school, church, and community service for many years. She plans to emphasize childhood development during her tenure and understands the importance of the prevention of childhood drinking as a State and national health priority. She looks forward to the opportunities ahead and to making a difference in the lives of children and all Mississippians.
Mrs. Barbour grew up in Monroeville, Alabama, and her family later moved to Canton, Mississippi. She and Governor Barbour have lived in Yazoo City, Mississippi, since their marriage. Mrs. Barbour received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in marketing, from the University of Mississippi. Governor and Mrs. Barbour have two grown sons.
