Get Started!

Welcome!

The Leadership To Keep Children Alcohol Free Foundation is a unique coalition of First Spouses and/or their designates working on the issue of childhood drinking.  We began in the year 2000 and have over half of the nation’s First Spouses engaged.  Now, with the help of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA), we are taking our efforts to a whole new level!  We are linking what’s happening in every state in a virtual nationwide coalition.

Thank you for considering joining the Leadership Foundation’s nationwide effort to unite coalitions, state agencies, First Spouses, parents/concerned citizens around the issue of childhood/underage drinking across America.  It is totally free to join and there is no membership fee.  Together we can create a nationwide voice around the issue of childhood/underage drinking.  Each state will be a group where you can connect to others in your state that are working on underage drinking.  We are engaging First Spouses in each state to connect to your efforts.  You can help with that by sending her/him a letter if they have not joined.

If you have not created an account, you will need to register.  Here’s how…MAKE SURE TO FILL OUT YOUR ADDRESS CAREFULLY – SOME ACCOUNTS MAY BE DENIED IF YOU DON’T LOOK LIKE A REAL PERSON WITH INTEREST IN UNDERAGE DRINKING PREVENTION

  1. A fill-in form will ask for your email address, and your agency or home address.  This information is private and will never be shown to any other registrant.  IT WILL NEVER BE SOLD OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.  You can unsubscribe at any time.  It is FREE to create a user account.  A created account  means you will get to search for others in your state and in other states.
  2. As you register, you will be asked which group you want to join.  Every state is an existing group created by the Leadership Foundation Website Administrator [[email protected]].  First, find your state group in the long list of groups. [We apologize in advance…they are not in alphabetical order.  Rather they occur in the order in which they were created.]   This will enable you to interact with other partners in your state, publicize what you’re agency, town, or neighborhood group is doing, and find out what events are going on around your state.  As other groups are created, they will appear in the list too.
  3. When information is filled in, and you have selected your group, click “create new account.”  You will get a page that looks like the image below.  It will have a message in green in the middle of the page that reads:  “Thank you for applying for an account.  Your account is currently pending approval by the site administrator.  In the meantime, a welcome message with further instructions has been sent to your e-mail address.”
  4. Following your confirmation, you will be asked permitted to use all the site’s features.  This approval process is intended to keep your groups private and relevant to our cause.

You can also create a group of your own.

You can find out more about creating a group in that section.  Basically, this function allows for focused conversation with specific people.  Once you create a group, you will be the administrator of it, and will mean that you can give permissions or privileges to anyone who wants to join.  This will keep your conversation private within your group.  For example, if you are a law officer, you may want to consider creating a group for other law enforcement personnel in your county or state.

There are many benefits to joining.  Try us out and find out!
